Parent's Rights

 

You have the Right to seek second, third, etc., opinions if you are not comfortable with the information or diagnosis you have been given.

You have the Right to ask questions in regards to treatment, medications, and therapies.

You have the Right to review documentation about your child.

You have the Right to seek professional help if you are being threatened with the custody of your child.

You have the Right to be part of your child's treatment team.

You have the Right to be Assertive in seeking help for your child.

You have the Right to ask for an evaluation from your public school district...before alternative schools are put in place.

You have the Right to request reevaluation from your public school district if your child is not benefiting educationally from the current situation.

You have the Right to request mediation or a Due Process hearing to resolve unsolved differences with your public school system.

You have the Right to advocate for your child's rights and your rights on a community, state, and federal level.

You have the Right to know that you did not cause your child's illness.

You have the Right to educate yourself and others about your child's neurobiological disorder.

You have the Right to love your child unconditionally.
